Christian Bale Loses It On Set of Terminator 4

An associate producer on the set of Terminator Salvation has excused Christian Bale – who plays the lead role in the film – for his on-set tongue lashing of the film’s Director of Photography.  Bruce Franklin, the assistant director and associate producer on the film, says that Bale was a “consummate professional” during the filming of T4.

Which is a bit unbelievable, considering that Bale reportedly shouted the following at the Director of Photography: “I’m trying to do a f**king scene here and I’m going, ‘Why the f**k is Shane walking in there? What’s he doing there?’
Do you understand my mind is not in the scene if you’re doing that?”

He goes on to threaten to “kick his f**king ass” before telling the director of the film that he’ll quit if the DOP isn’t fired.

Here’s the audio…

***WARNING: BALE HAS AN ENGLISH-TYPE OF ACCENT.  OH, AND THERE’S A BIT OF DIRTY LANGUAGE***

Titanic Wins Best Picture Oscar

Looking back, could any of the other films nominated with Titanic possibly have won?

I say no.

It was also nice to see a blockbuster film win a Best Picture Oscar, which is something The Dark Knight should have at least had the chance to do this year.

Raw, Rude and Rockin’ – Your Golden Globes Live Blog

Who doesn’t love award shows?  My personal favorite are the AVN awards, but the Golden Globes will have to do for tonight.

7:03 – All right, so I’m a few minutes late to the awards because of an early dinner that ran late, and I unfortunately saw my favorite actress pull down the night’s first award.  Kate Winslet just won for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Reader – which is supposed to be a great movie and equally fine book.  I received the book for Christmas, but have yet to read it because I pulled both of my eyeballs out of my head like this guy.

Luckily, my brail copy is one the way.

Winslet looks really nervous at the beginning of her acceptance speech.  It’s rather justified, I would say, considering she’s been nominated for an Oscar five times, and has all of 0 Academy Awards.  I must say that these type of acceptance speeches where the winner is so overbearingly happy have to be excruciating for those whom they’re close to.  Like, Winslet’s husband Sam Mendes looks like he’s just praying that Winslet doesn’t fall apart and start crying in front of 10 million people, or however many people are watching this thing across the world.  Leo DiCaprio – Winslet’s best friend and Revolutionary Road co-star – is the same way.

So congrats to Ms. Winslet, who figures to be the favorite for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, which she’ll probably get screwed over for on February 19th .  But she has a lot to look forward to over the next month, which will probably be the best of her life (as it will for the other winners tonight).

All right, she just thanked the hair and make-up department, which I guess is legitimate because she looks old as f— in the promos of the movie.

Winslet thanks her husband and kids to close out her speech, which always makes me happy.  Cheers to Kate, and I hope you win Best Actress in a Motion Picture later tonight, although Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep have to be the co-favorites for that particular award.

Heath Ledger’s Oscar Push

Well, it started today.

Warner Bros. (the cousin of Bang) launched their Oscar push for Ledger to be the second posthumous Oscar winner.  The first was Peter Finch, who won the award for his starring role in Network (which starred the amazing Faye Dunaway).

The campaign was launched with a poster, which is a screen shot taken from the menacing opening scene, which is one of the best that I’ve seen for some time.

Whether Ledger will receive the honor is up for debate, and probably all of the players up for the Best Supporting Actor will come to the surface around the holiday season, when the “arty” movies are released.

Someone to watch – and I know this film has not yet been released – will be James Franco in Milk.  This movie is getting a ton of Oscar buzz – especially for Sean Penn’s performance – so don’t be surprised if it’s the big winner, and potentially steals the Oscar from Ledger.

The other thing that I wouldn’t discount is people voting against Ledger in the hope to keep their voting integrity. It’s one of those things that I think the Grammy voters did last year, when they passed over Kanye West and Amy Winehouse for the Album of the Year for a compilation of Jazz tracks.

Anyways, here’s the first of many Oscar posters for Ledger:

What do you think?  Does Ledger have your vote, or is it too early to tell?
