The Lonely Island’s “Boombox” With Julian Casablancas

The Lonely Island’s Incredibad comes out tomorrow, and because of my role as a high-profile music critic, I’ve heard the album.

There’s definitely some funny stuff on it, but there’s one song and one song only that stands out.

It’s “Boombox” with Julian Casablancas, the singer from The Strokes.

This is the song, which has the potential to be a “Dick in a Box”/”Jizz in my Pants” type of hit.

Justin Timberlake De-Robes For Beyoncee

Justin Timberlake took off his robe to convince Beyonce to perform in Saturday Night Live‘s hilarious “Single Ladies” sketch, Timberlake told Katie Couric.

Timberlake tells CBS’ Katie Couric he showed up at Beyoncé’s dressing room after hearing she was having second thoughts about the sketch, wearing only a robe covering a leotard, the Associated Press reports. He then dropped the robe and just stood there.

Justin says Beyoncé’s response was, “I can’t look anywhere but your face right now.”

Right now, a version of the sketch has over 7,000,000 views on YouTube, and more on Hulu.com and NBC.com

Couric covers other SNL topics with the Timberlake too.  In the interview, a pre-Grammy’s special scheduled to air next week, Couric also asks about what his mom thought about the “Dick in a Box” skit.

Lonely Island Album Details

The Lonely Island, the Saturday Night Live trio who have produced such hits as “Dick in a Box” and “Jizz in My Pants,” have released details about their new album, and I, for one, am excited.

The Lonely Island’s album is called “Incredibad.”  It comes out on Feb. 10, and features 19 tracks.  Of those 19, only six have been made into videos and dispersed throughout American culture.

Here’s “We Like Sportz”…

The songs that I’m most interested in hearing is I’m on a Boat, Punch You In The Jeans and Boombox.  But this album should be great.  I hope.  There’s always the possibility that all of the funny/catchy songs were made into digital shorts.  But let’s hope that’s not the case.
